Chocolate Layer Cake
INGREDIENTS:
Chocolate sponge:
Flour -11/2 cups
Sugar -1 1/2 cups
Butter-1/4 cup
Butter-1/4 cup
Egg -1
Cocoa powder -1/4 cup
Salt-pinch
Baking powder-1 tbs
Chocolate cream:
Heavy Cream-250 ml
Condensed Milk-75 ml
Coco powder-2 Tbsp
Chocolate Glaze:
Chocolate-150 grams
Heavy cream-150 grams
Method:
Preheat 350 ° F
To make chocolate sponge:
Sift all dry ingredients (flour,coco powder,baking powder) and salt .
In another Bowl Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.Gradually add the eggs.
Add the sifted dry ingredients into the Egg mixture,in two batches,folding gently after each addition.
Transfer into cake Pan, Cake should greased with butter and lined with parchment paper or(dust with flour completely)
Bake at 350 ° F for about 30 minute
Test - Inserted skewer should come out clean
cool slightly,invert onto cooling rack,un mold leave to cool completely.
Make layers Carefully
To make chocolate cream:
Mix all mixture together (condensed milk,coco powder and heavy cream ) whip on high speed until stiff.
To make chocolate Glaze:
Bring heavy cream to simmer turn off stove,pour chopped chocolate and stir until melted and smooth,Glaze should be at room temperature,and runny enough to pour over cake.
Fun Part:
Assemble the cake:
Place 1 layer flat side up,on a plate with a knife or spatula,spread the top with chocolate cream,place 2 layer on top,rounded side up,and spread the chocolate cream evenly on the top and sides.
Now place cake on rack to pour our glaze,use spoon for spread chocolate glaze
cover and refrigerate for a few hours.
you can decorate with chocolate chips or as desired.
